Treaty council must continue to build consensus and educate

State determines CAFO Is not a commercial enterprise for water use near YST lands!
      Dear Editor: Near Yankton Sioux Tribe lands in Marty, LongView Farm, LLP is building a Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation. The operation is on state lands. LongView Farm, LLP initially applied for a commercial water use permit but withdrew their application stating that they would use less than the required amount for commercial users.

      Dear Editor: Two weeks ago I saw a segment on the Early Show on CBS, a tragic loss of two beautiful boys that died of carbon monoxide poisoning, their parents and remaining bother survived and were devastated. They hoped to encourage others to get and use a carbon monoxide detector ( they did not have one!

      I am writing from Virginia and enjoying my stay with my oldest daughter and granddaughter this writer must state that reading news in the Virginia Pilot gives me a new perspective on the news. I attended my granddaughter's second birthday party yesterday, which makes this column late getting out. I will return to Rapid City on Jan. 1, 2009.
