1975 AIM trial set for May in Rapid City
      SIOUX FALLS (AP) - An oft-delayed trial has been rescheduled for two men charged with the 1975 killing of a fellow American Indian Movement activist. John Graham and Richard Marshall were set to stand trial last week in Rapid City on charges they committed or aided and abetted the first-degree murder of Annie Mae Aquash on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

Supreme Court hearing denied in killing of eagle by Northern Arapaho
      WASHINGTON, DC - In a case that could have far reaching implications for American Indian religious freedom the U. S. Supreme Court denied a hearing for a Northern Arapaho man who reportedly admitted to killing a bald eagle on the Wind River reservation in Wyoming for a 2005 sun dance.

Cante Wanjila serves as liaison for inmates
Presently there are seven prisons in the state with 901 Native inmates, 239 are Oglala Lakota and there are over 100 first time offenders in the state Unified Judiciary System
      I have been the liaison for the tribe and the Department of Correction for three years. Prior to my appointment in 2006 by the OST White Plume Administration and approved by the DOC there has not been a liaison for the Oglala Sioux Tribe for three years, and there has not been very much dialogue between the Department of Corrections and the tribe.
