Cheyenne Eagle Butte closes out State A tourney with win over Britton-Hecla

The Cheyenne Eagle Butte Lady Braves won 7th place at State A. Team members include (not in order) Cesi Allen, Tonia White Bull, Colby Lesmeister, Nadia Watt, Calby Pearman, Tiara Maxon, Harlee Morgan, Rony Leaf, Scottie Laundreaux, Lacy Leaf, Mariah Cook, Mary Mitchell, Allysa White Bull, Jazmin Phillips and Jessica Keckler and coach Les Logg (back left). The Cheyenne Eagle Butte Lady Braves won 7th place at State A. Team members include (not in order) Cesi Allen, Tonia White Bull, Colby Lesmeister, Nadia Watt, Calby Pearman, Tiara Maxon, Harlee Morgan, Rony Leaf, Scottie Laundreaux, Lacy Leaf, Mariah Cook, Mary Mitchell, Allysa White Bull, Jazmin Phillips and Jessica Keckler and coach Les Logg (back left). EAGLE BUTTE - The Lady Braves bounced back from two opening losses and the loss of their junior sharpshooter, Tiarra Maxon to win their seventh place game with Britton-Hecla by leading it at each quarter break and finishing strong for a 47- 35 win to conclude the tourney on a positive note.

Tonia White Bull hit three threes and finished with 12 points, five assists and three rebounds while Nadia Watt ended up with nine points and nine rebounds. Jessica Keckler added seven points and four blocked shots while Scottie Laundreau hit five points and eight boards and Lacy Leaf finished with six points and eight rebounds.

Cheyenne Eagle Butte struggled in their opening game losing 51-42 to Newell as Keckler led the way with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

On Thursday, the Lady Braves played Wagner losing 74-57 as Tiarra Maxon went down early in the fourth with an injury, she had held the hot hand at the time with three threes and 18 points and Keckler fouled out with 1:22 to go in the fourth with seven points and five rebounds, Lacy Leaf had seven points and eight boards.

CEB finished the year with an 18-8 record. Keckler was named to the all tournament team.
