      in the dance contest and drum contest. Each school member of the Teca Wacipi Okolakiciye organization sponsors a wacipi at their schools, held on Fridays.       PIERRE (AP)- The Missouri River Task Force for South Dakota plans to hold its first meeting Thursday in Fort Pierre. The task force is working on plan to promote conservation practices and control, remove and protect river areas from sediment.

      Correction** Issue #25 , March 18, page A2- "Rosebud to receive $4.7 million in stimulus money" was incorrect. "The money we received was not stimulus money. It was FY 09 earmarks funds. Holz given 51 months for killing Whirlwind Horse, Randall
      RAPID CITY - Timothy Holz, 61 of Rushville was sentenced to 51 months by U. S. District court judge Karen Schrier for running over and killing two Pine Ridge residents as they walked along side of the highway between White Clay, Neb. and Pine Ridge. Calonnie Randall of Wanblee and Robert Whirlwind Horse of Manderson were the victims on Aug. 27.

St. Francis Youth Center a safe place to hang out
      ST. FRANCIS - The young people in this community have a place to go and hang out. The community center on the North end of town is open six days a week and offers several activities. National Weather Service downsizes warnings according to hail size
      RAPID CITY — Effective April 1, 2009, the National Weather Service will raise the hail threshold for severe thunderstorm warnings from 3/4 inch to one inch diameter. The wind threshold will remain the same at 58 mph.
