Lady Brave Hearts take 3rd at AIHEC tournament

MISSOULA, MONT. - Behind Tera Cuny's three threes and 22 points and Daisy Her Many Horses three threes and 22 points, the OLC Lady Brave Hearts defeated Stone Child College 91-63 to take third place in this year's American Indian Higher Education Consortium's national tournament hosted Salish Kootenai College in Missoula, Mont. last weekend.

The Lady Brave Hearts opened pool play with a 40-24 win over Blackfeet Community College, Cuny hit for 15 points and TJ Randall Her Many Horses, Dawn Doyle, row, l-r: Tamara Randall, Tera added eight. OLC lost to Turtle Mountain 51- 41 in the second game despite Cuny's two threes and 18 points. OLC then wrapped up pool play with a 53-29 win over Fort Peck Community College earning the number two seed in the tourney as Elaine Yellow Horse knocked down four threes and 18 points to lead the way.
Cuny helped out with 13 and TJ Randall with 11.
OLC opened tournament play with a 64- 50 win over Chief Dull Knife College as Cuny Doyle, Coach Mary Tobacco,
scored 19 points and received help from three
Cuny, Kim Randall-Big threes and16 points by Her Many Horses.
Salish Kootenai College de-railed OLC in the semis 74-52; Cuny led the way again with 27 points on two threes and going seven of ten from the line, TJ Randall helped with 14 points.
Valerie Richards contributed 20 points in the third place win over Stone Child while TJ Randall chipped in 18. Salish Kootenai defeated Turtle Mountain 92-69 for the championship.
