~Torrance "Terry" M. Fast Horse~

Torrance "Terry" M. Fast Horse was born February 25, 1939, in Bad Nation, South Dakota, to Cecilia White Hawk/Fast Horse and Paul Truman Fast Horse. Terry Fast Horse departed this world on Thursday, June 11, 2009, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Terry was transported to his home on Friday, June 12, 2009; wake services were held at the O'kreek School Gym on Saturday and Sunday. On Monday, June 15, 2009, Terry was laid to rest at the St. George's Cemetery in Bad Nation, South Dakota. Pall Bearers were Charles Fast Horse Sr., Franklin Fast Horse Jr., Ed Fast Horse, Evans Fast Horse, Merle "Cowboy" Fast Horse, and Nathan Fast Horse; honorary pall bearers were all other family and friends.

Terry grew up in South Dakota as a carpenter, working during the week and following the rodeo trail on weekends with his father and his brothers. Terry later moved to California and then Oregon where he continued to rodeo and work carpentry throughout the west coast with his brothers; at this time he also worked in the legal system and as a painter. During, and after, college in San Francisco, CA, Terry Fast Horse lived the life of a professional bull rider on the Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association circuit. Terry donated time and money to all sports and cultural events and was happy to sponsor a baseball team, wild horse race team, or powwow, in the name of fun; in essence, Terry Fast Horse was proud to be Lakota.

Terry Fast Horse was preceded in death by his mother, Cecilia White Hawk/Fast Horse; his father, Paul Fast Horse; his sisters, Catherine, Gladys, Ellen, and Nina; and his brothers, Charles, Robert, Arlington, Franklin "George", Clifford, and Manfred. Surviving family members for Terry are daughters, Annie Fast Horse (Bellingham, WA), Pam Buckman (Mission, SD), Deana Fast Horse (Omaha, NE), and Mary Spirit Track (Sioux Falls, SD); his sons, Wesley "Charles" Fast Horse (Lake Andes, SD), Eugene Fast Horse (Lake Andes, SD), Guy Fast Horse (O'kreek, SD), Leo "Blue" Fast Horse (California), Justin Fast Horse (Omaha, NE), Terry "Lil' Guy" Fast Horse Jr. (Bellingham, WA), Chris Whitlark (Washington), and Clifford W. Fast Horse (O'kreek, SD); his sisters, Addeline Fast Horse (Sioux Falls, SD), Ruth Fast Horse (Portland, OR), Gladys Compton (Escada, OR), Marion Morales (Bellingham, WA), Beverly Fast Horse (Portland, OR); and his brothers Lorenzo Fast Horse (Portland, OR), John Fast Horse Sr. (Mission, SD), and Paul "G.I." Fast Horse (Carter, SD).
