Michaud goes 3-3 on Iowa road trip

AMES, Iowa – South Dakota State went up against nationally ranked Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa Thursday, ISU downed the visiting Jackrabbits 43-3 as Pine Ridge graduate, David Michaud was beat by Joe Curran 17-2 in the 184 pound weight division.

SDSU competed in the Cyclone Open in Ames on Saturday; Michaud won his first two matches defeating David Chionuma( LU) 5-3 and Ben Scott(Wart) in a fall at 2:14. He then lost to Cole Shafer/Iowa State 8-1 and followed that up by pinning Mitch Brown of University of Nebraska/ Omaha in 3:37. Michaud finished up the Cyclone Open by losing to University of Northern Iowa’s Ryan Loder 10-0.

Michaud and SDSU will participate in the University of Nebraska/ Omaha Open on Saturday.
