Wolf Creek tops off undefeated season with Big Foot Conference championship

PINE RIDGE – After shutting down Red Cloud 44-0 and Little Wound 44-0 in the first two rounds of the Big Foot Conference football playoffs, the Wolf Creek Warriors defeated Pine Ridge 50- 20 last Friday in Pine Ridge to win the Big Foot championship and polish off an undefeated 11-0 football season.

Wolf Creek opened the season on September 10 with a 24-6 win over St. Francis. After a two week lay-off, the Warriors beat Rockyford 44-0, won by forfeit over Pine Ridge then shut out Wounded Knee District School 44-0 and Batesland 46-0. In October Wolf Creek shut out Little Wound 50-0 and Red Cloud 50-0 before getting a forfeit win over American Horse to finish the regular season at 8-0.

Francis Big Crow, Rob Fire Thunder and Wilbur Buckman coached the Warriors this year with Aleisha Janis, Marina Hawkins, Tristian Davis and Gilbert Bad Wound working as managers. The team included Ryan Standing Soldier, Gabe Chief Eagle, Troy Weston, Joe Morgan, Quentin Around Him, Harlan Standing Bear, Lorell Goings, Brandon Benson, James Moran, Kyle Cortier, Justin Davis, Jonathan LeDeaux, Emmit Rodriguez, Roberto Jaquez, Mike Montoya and Joel Roubideau.
