St. Francis continues to roll, Red Cloud splits against #1 ranked teams, Pine Ridge picks up 8th win

ST. FRANCIS/MITCHELL/WHITE RIVER Rich Crow Eagle’s Warriors are rolling up the wins; Thursday night St. Francis only had a two point lead at the half against Little Wound and it was only four 51 47 at the end of three but the Warriors turned on the gas in the fourth to outscore the Mustangs 35 16 in the fourth for an 86 63 win over St. Francis for their 11th win of the season against one loss.

Warriors Tim Little Shield hit seven of his first nine shots to help St. Francis to an 18 13 first quarter lead and to hold a two point 29 27 halftime edge. After Little Shield missed his next five shots, Tim’s teammates, Lawyer Claymore and Cory Eagleman, picked up the ball and scored eight and six points respectively in the third for a Warrior four point lead. new energy in the fourth, scoring 12 of his 14 points in the last quarter; Clay more hit eight points in the fourth to finish with 21 points and 17 rebounds, Little Shield ended up with 23 points and 15 rebounds while both Eagleman and Darwin Walking Eagle chipped in 10 points a piece.

St. Francis is now 11 1 and ranked #8 in the sportswriters top ten poll. They travel to Pine Ridge on Tuesday and Oel richs on Thursday.

Spur Pourier led Little Wound with 17 points, Oren Three Stars hit 16 points with seven steals while Skyler Hunter and William Yellow Bull each pulled down 10 rebounds. Against Pine Ridge on Saturday, Pourier scored 19 and Three Stars hit for 16 in a 69 56 loss to the Thorpes. Little Wound is 4 10 and hosts McLaughlin on Friday.
