~Donnie "Chaos" Swan Jr. ~

Donnie "Chaos" Swan Jr. was born at the Mobridge Regional Hospital on July 19, 1986 to Colleen Esther (Miner) and Donald Duwayne Swan, Sr. He spent most of his life in White Horse, attending Head Start, Day School and graduating from Tiopsaye Topa High School in 2005. In Donnie's younger years he enjoyed singing and dancing at various pow-wows and hanging out with Baby G. Chaos started his ball career in 7th grade, playing through the 12th grade. He received many accolades and awards for his skills on the court. Awards came from LMC Conference, Dakota Oyate Challenge and District. The highlight of his life came when the Cheyenne River Tribe honored Donnie with an Executive Proclamation for achieving 1000 points in his high school career. December 21, 2004 was proclaimed Donnie Swan Day!

Chaos met Ariane Big Crow and together they had a beautiful daughter, Azlyn Don Marie Swan. He worked for Arpan and Miller Construction and Landscaping in Rapid City, SD. In Donnie's spare time, he liked to fish, ranch, hunt and play in basketball tournaments throughout Indian country.

Donnie will be deeply missed by his daughter, Azlyn Don Marie Swan; K9, Haylee Rose; parents, Donald and Colleen Swan of Whi tehorse; three sisters, Mar i lyn ( Luke) Eagleman, Megan Swan and Melissa Swan all of Whitehorse; three brothers, William Swan of Phoenix, AZ, Sage (Dez) Miner of Whitehorse and Vern (Hattie) Miner of Wagner, SD; nieces and nephews, Sierra, Ameriah, Keynon, Dante, Angelle, Xavia, Alonzo, Jamila, Kobe, Vern Jr., Priest, Declane and DeAmbria; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Miner of Whitehorse; paternal grandmother, Faye Rousseau of Whitehorse; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles; god-mother, Elaine Little Bear and god-father, Stewart Swan.

Chaos was preceded in death by grandfather, William Miner, Jr; grandfather/god-father, Francis Rousseau, Sr.; three uncles, Boyd and Bruce Miner and Warren Swan; nephew, Conway Thompson and two aunts, Connie Hutto and Marilyn Miner.

Funeral services for Donald "Chaos" Swan, Jr., 23, of Whitehorse, SD, were held Friday, May 20 at 10:00am, CDT, at the Whitehorse Emmanuel Episcopal Church with Reverend Les Campbell and Pastor Norman Blue Coat officiating. Music was provided by Sisters in Harmony, Frank Thompson and Wakinyan Maza Drum Group.Burial followed at the church cemetery under the direction of Stout Family Funeral Home of Mobridge. Casketbearers were Sage Miner, Billy Swan, Chris Olsen, Brad Keckler, Vern Miner, Misty Lawrence, Darci Laurenz, Brandon Miner, Gerald Takes the Knife, Luke Eagleman, Jeremy Rousseau and Clint LeCompte. An all night wake began with prayer services at 7:00pm, CDT, Thursday at the church. Donnie entered the spirit world May 14, 2011 as a result of a motor vehicle accident near Whitehorse.
